Job grading. Which group, which scale, which salary?

In the VVT you grade each job yourself with the FWG VVT system. There is no national list of jobs and groups. Choose the kind of work and the function group, and you see the scale and the salary. Not graded yet? Then you see how that works.

Frequently asked questions

Because the cao has no list of jobs. Every organisation describes its own jobs and grades them with FWG VVT. The same job title can fall into a different group at two employers, because the work is different. The salary follows from the group, not from the title.

Employer and employee may inspect the FWG VVT system and the grading for free. A request goes to the Social consultation VVT (SOVVT). You appoint graders yourself and make sure they and the members of the objections committee are trained (article 4.1).

An objection to the job description or the grading can be made within 30 days, in writing and with reasons. You ask the internal FWG objections committee for advice within 14 days and decide within 30 days after that advice. After that the employee can ask the FWG system holder for an expert opinion within 30 days (article 9.1).

First two steps more in the old scale. Then the salary moves to the same or next higher amount in the new scale, not below the minimum and not above the maximum. The step date becomes the date of promotion (article 4.2.3).

Would you rather we handled it?

We run payroll for care organisations under the VVT cao: salary scales and steps, the irregular hours supplement, holiday pay in May, the year-end bonus in November, the PFZW pension and the premiums for the collective insurance. Tell us how many people you employ. You'll hear back within one working day.
