Frequently asked questions
For a permanent contract and for a fixed-term contract of more than 6 months 2 months (article 4.1). That is longer than the law for a contract under 2 years. For a contract of 6 months or less no probation is allowed.
At most 3 in 36 months, as in the law, with a break of at most 6 months. Garden centres may use a break of 3 months for seasonal sales work.
You agree an average number of hours a week and may roster 30% more or less per week, at least 6 hours more or less and at most 45 hours. After twelve months you pay out the extra hours, missing hours lapse. It must be in the employment contract beforehand (article 4.2).
The cao has no periods of its own, so the law applies: 1 month for the employee, 1 to 4 months for the employer, to the end of the month. The contract ends automatically at state pension age.
