Frequently asked questions
Production and general: 2% from 1 July 2025, 2.25% from 1 January 2026 and 2.75% from 1 July 2026. Scale 3, step 4 thus went from €17.97 to €18.46 an hour. Commercial: the lowest steps are linked to the minimum wage, the rest got 1.75% plus €0.17 from 1 July 2026. Nothing has been agreed since.
On 1 January 2026 the steps were renumbered: the old step 3 is now step 1, the old step 4 step 2, and so on. Anyone hired on or after 1 January 2026 gets at least the wage of step 1 (article 15).
The cao works with hourly wages. The four-week wage is the hourly wage times 152. For a month we use 164.67 hours (38 hours times 13 divided by 3), as the cao does for fixed supplements. Part time in proportion to the hours.
It is a good estimate: with the payroll tax credit, under state pension age and after the employee's bakery pension contribution. For an exact calculation use the gross to net calculator.
